# Onboarding a newcomer

1. Prepare their laptop (see [new laptop](../procedures/new-laptop.md)).
2. Send their [VPN](../tools/vpn.md) profile.
3. Add them to their team's collection in the [password vault](../tools/password-vault.md).
4. Walk them through the [security awareness training](../procedures/security-training.md).

Print the [onboarding checklist](documents/onboarding-checklist.docx) (Word) for each
newcomer: who does what, from the day before their arrival to the end of their first month.
